Family News
Jackie’s mom and Dad are here. We have been busy helping
them complete their immigration paperwork, which they finished today. It took
Jackie and me three months of driving from one end of the city to another in a car
with no air conditioning and an all but
cooperative infant daughter to complete what they did
in just four weeks! We had no idea what we were doing three years ago. God is
so good. He brought us to all of the correct places. We were able to get all of
the paperwork done very easily. It was a much easier transition from Venezuela
to Paraguay than what they were expecting.
Elena and Abbie are doing very well. Elena just had her
third birthday, and Abbie turned one in July. Abbie is a little lazy and doesn’t
want to walk by herself yet. If nobody is looking, she may take three or four
steps by herself, but ONLY if no one notices!
One of the benefits of having Clint and Rita down here is FREE BABYSITTING! It has been really nice to drop the girls off at their grandparent’s house and be able to spend time by ourselves. Jackie especially enjoys not having to cut anyone’s food but her own. Eating with both hands, what a novelty!
Church News
Clint and I will be traveling to Ciudad Del Este on the border with Argentina and Brazil in two weeks. While there we will be meeting with a pastor, Juan Carlos Escobar. Our goal is to travel the country to get to know as many pastors and their churches as we can. Later this year, we will be traveling north to Filadelfia, then south to Encarnación. Outside of Asunción, these are the largest cities in the country.
Currently, we are finishing up our first term on the field! It is hard to believe that furlough is almost here! Jackie and I have been with BIMI for over five years! It has been such an exciting journey. God has been so good. We’ve seen so many lives changed. Thank you all so much for your prayers.
Serving Him,
Brian
