Doctrinal Statement
1. The Scriptures
The Word of God is inerrant and infallible (Psalm 119:140 & II Timothy 3:15-17). In its sixty-six books, it is the completed revelation of God to man. It is the only immutable foundation we have on which to build our life.
(Isaiah 40:8 & Matthew 5:18)
2. The Person and work of God the Father
God is eternal in His existence, without beginning or ending (Revelation 1:8). He is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient (Psalm 139:7 & Isaiah 40:28). Through the work of Christ, He provided the way for man to fellowship with Him, and He delights in that fellowship.
3. The Person and work of God the Son
Jesus is co-equal, co-existent and eternally existent with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit (John 1 & Philippians 2:6-8). His finished work on the cross and resurrection from the dead provided for the redemption of all men (Hebrews 10:10). He is the only way to the Father and thus to eternal life in Heaven (John 14:6).
4. The Person and work of God the Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal, co-existent and eternally existent with God the Father and God the Son (Hebrews 9:14). He indwells the believer at salvation (John 14:17). As we submit to Him, He has more control over us and is able to freely guide us (Romans 8:14 & Ephesians 5:18).
5. The Salvation and Security of the Believer
“Salvation is of the Lord” (John 2:9) and “whosoever shall call on the name of he Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). The Bible teaches that Christ paid the price for men’s sin (Hebrews 9:28). Once someone is a child of God, the Bible says, they “shall never perish.” God has given them eternal life (I John 5:13 & John 10:25-30).
6. The Church
Churches are God’s instruments of world evangelism (John 20:21). A church is a group of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together to carry out the great commission.
7. The Ordinances
There are two ordinances: Baptism (Acts 2:41) and the Lord’s Table (I Corinthians 11). They offer no grace to the partaker. They are only symbolic of the finished work of Jesus Christ.
8. The Person of Satan
Satan is a literal being described in the Bible as being at enmity with God and all that is God’s especially His people and His creation. The very name “Satan” means adversary. (Matthew 25:41)
9. The Eternal State
Heaven and Hell are two literal places where people will spend their eternity. Their state is based on what they have done with the Lord Jesus. (Luke 16:24 & John 14:2)
10. The Second Coming of Christ
Christ’s coming is a literal, bodily coming. He will come in “like manner” (Acts 1:11 & Mark 13:35-37).
11. The Millennial Reign of Christ
Christ will have a literal one thousand year rule on earth after the tribulation period. (Isaiah 9:7 & Revelation 20:1-6)
12. The Great Commission
World evangelism is an attainable goal. Christ gave it to His church. We must give the gospel to every creature on earth, allowing them to either accept or reject Jesus Christ. Then, we must baptize those who accept Christ and teach them what God’s Word says in order that they might do their part in God’s work of world Evangelism.
(Matthew 28, Acts 1 & Matthew 24:14)
13. Ecclesiastical Separation
The Word of God teaches that we must separate ourselves from “every brother that walketh disorderly.” (II John 10-11 & II Thessalonians 3:6-14)
14. The Ecumenical Movement
I believe the ecumenical movement is full of compromise. It is based on worldly ideas and a lack of concern for the truth of God’s Word. We have been commanded by God to expose error, and these men are accepting it and making others “twofold more the child of hell.” (Matthew 23:15)
15. The Charismatic Movement
This is a fleshly movement where many sincere people seek to fill the void in their life with emotional religious activity. It is experience based and not Bible based.
