I was born into a Catholic family. My father was saved at the age of seven, but he was not encouraged to have a devotional life with God. My mother was raised in Catholicism. She was led to a personal relationship with the Lord as a result of the testimony of our neighbor. My family began to attend church faithfully when I was just a few months old. Despite the many opportunities, I did not accept Christ as my personal Savior until I was sixteen.

After graduating from high school, I attended Crown College in Powell, Tennessee. I spent my time in college working in the Spanish department of the church under the direction of Gilbert Mendez. God even gave me the privilege of being the children’s director of the Spanish department during my senior year. It was there that God began to work on my heart for the nation of Paraguay.

The Lord has blessed me with the opportunity of growing up on the mission field.  I was two years old when my parents, Clint and Rita Vernoy, reached the city of Barquisimeto to begin our church-planting ministry.  Growing up I had many opportunities to work in the ministry and see the Lord bless in the country of Venezuela.  When I was eleven years old, the Lord called my father to the Amazon region of Venezuela. We began to work in the small Ye'Kuana Indian village named Chajurana, which is a two-week canoe trip from the nearest town. It was at the age of 14 that I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.  I was led to the Lord by my grandmother, and have desired to serve Him ever since. During my years on the mission field the Lord equipped me with many tools to minister in a Latin American field.

It is with great joy and anticipation that I look forward to the day where my husband and I can serve the Lord among the people of Paraguay.
